The eye
of the daruma, a good
luck talisman and a figure without legs and arms - it is said the
Indian monk Bodhidharma lost them during long time meditation - is
painted when one makes a wish, and the other is drawn after the wish
has come true. This procedure is popular among politicians during
election periods or the begining of the new year.
