2000  becomes honorary citizen of Leonberg City

2005  Royal Gold Metal of the Royal Institute of
         British Architects (RIBA)
2006  receives arts prize Praemium Imperiale awarded
         by the imperial family of Japan
2008  receives Federal Cross of Merit
2015  passed away
