1945       diploma in architecture at TU Munich

1947-55   works at his father
Dominikus Böhm´s
              (1880-1955) architectural office in Cologne  
  first independent sacral building in Cologne
1948       marries the architect Elisabeth Haggenmüller /
              Elisabeth Böhm (1921-2012)
  births of his four sons Stephan, Markus, Peter
              and Paul
1951       study trip to the United States, meets Walter
              Gropius and Mies van der Rohe
      takes over his father´s office
receives Pritzker Architecture Price, as first and
              only German architect
1991       wird honorary member at the Royal Institute of
              British Architects
1993       becomes member of Academy of Arts, Berlin
1997       partnership with his son Paul Böhm
